Santa & Cole Landscape Architecture Competition

Santa & Cole, the Spanish Association of Landscape Architects and the European Biennial of Landscape Architecture announce the first Santa & Cole Landscape Architecture Competition, a Europe-wide competition of ideas intended to promote and reward good professional landscape architecture work in Spain, as a new culture which modifies and enriches the surroundings. Held biennially within the framework of the European Biennial of Landscape Architecture, each competition will consider a different sphere of action.

This first competition will reward the landscape architecture intervention in the Valle de Sant Pere, within the Belloch property, situated in the municipality of La Roca del Vallés, Barcelona.

The people or teams who wish to enter the competition must complete and send, before 30 June 2010, the registration form available on the competition website (http://www.santacoleconcursopaisajismo.com)

Presentation of the entries

The entries must be delivered by hand or received by ordinary mail or by courier at the Competition Secretariat by 14:00 hours on the 10 September 2010.

Contestants

  1. The competition may be entered by those multidisciplinary teams or legal entities, whose corporate aims correspond with the object of the competition, led by a team director with specific qualifications in landscape architecture, architecture or engineering linked to its object, and with documented experience in landscape projects. This director, or another representative of the team, must in turn be authorized to work in Spain and be able to draft and process a final design with the characteristics of the competition object. The multidisciplinary team may be made up of experts in any of the professional, scientific, technical or artistic spheres associated with the landscape and must include at least one landscape architect.
  2. Those considered qualified to work in Spain shall be those who are in possession of the corresponding qualification, either Spanish or legally
recognizable (qualifications of the European Union, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Switzerland) or recognized as equivalent to the Spanish one and/or recognized by the corresponding professional association.

  1. A landscape architect shall be considered to be someone accredited by a professional landscape architecture association belonging to the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA) or with specific training in landscape architecture, understood as that corresponding to the degree or master’s degree levels (official or internal qualification) of a Spanish or foreign university and those training programmes recognized by the Spanish Association of Landscape Architects (AEP) or the European Federation for Landscape Architecture (EFLA).
